Emilia's Verbals
It started when I saw the info about the competition on the Hot Press website... And then it really started! There was the ‘You are shortlisted’ phone call – and soon after that there were articles in the local press, interviews on the radio, people calling and texting to congratulate me. Awesome! And it got even better when the HTC phone arrived… After a short briefing at 4 Dame Lane, all the photographers rolled up their sleeves, fighting for the best shots and videos of Royseven, whether it required lying on the floor or getting up high on the chairs! We were all in there to win! And there were plenty of opportunities, as the frontman Paul Walsh and other band members really rocked the stage! Oh and the crowd! Well, I have to say that ‘We Should Be Lovers’ is still a girls’ favourite ;). Conversely, it was during ‘Killer’ that the guys went crazy! Eamonn Barrett really rocked the guitar and got up close (really close) to the photographers in front of the stage (leaving me blushing...).
After the gig we relaxed with a few drinks and some got into some serious dancing. Chatting with the other photographers and exchanging our experiences went on till the late hours. It’s awesome to have been in the finals. I’m really happy with the new HTC One phone, had an amazing time at the gig. And finally, I’m really looking forward to collaborating with the other talented photographers I met through the competition.
