TIME IS A THIEF
Boasting squeam-inducing song titles like 'Good Night Blood Sucker' and slasher-themed music videos by way of visual accompaniment, straight-up rockers Time Is A Thief are not the fellows to recommend to your Taylor Swift-worshiping cousin. They are, on the other hand, a band on a mission. Built with the aim of bringing "some of the simplicity back to rock", this scowling, head-banging foursome have been very careful not to fall victim to the perils of overproduction or overthinking. Featuring hearty riffs, relentless percussion and the champion growling of front man Adam Carroll, TIAT's debut LP We're Not Strangers dipped its toe in metal country, all the while echoing the radio-friendly, early noughties noise of acts like Biffy Clyro and Twin Atlantic. Since then, the sound's only gotten heavier and more menacing, making this Corkonian treasure even more valuable to the Irish live scene.
See: them live in Cyprus Avenue, Cork on January 25.
