Even if you don't recognise the name, you'll probably have heard Margie Lewis in some form or other; since arriving onto Irish shores, this Australia-born violinist has performed with a myriad of locals, including such contrasting artists as Rhob Cunningham, The Ambience Affair, Bantum, Cry Monster Cry, Geppetto, Friend? and Ickis Mirolos. She's also found the time to become one of the many musical go-getters in the Dublin-based Young Hearts Run Free collective and provide musical accompaniment to a pair of hoop dancers at shows in Dublin and Belfast, which sort of explains why we've yet to hear any solo material from this extraordinarily busy lady. Having been lucky enough to catch the Margie Lewis live show, team Hot Press can confirm that her intricate cocktail of loop station, zither, violin and vocals is nothing short of jaw-dropping.
