Three California girls who started out playing with their musician parents until middle sister Danielle left The Valley post-high school to tour with Jenny Lewis and, later, Julian Casablancas. When she returned, they became a three-piece and began writing their own songs, mixing some modern R&B influences that betray their young age with the pure West Coast pop of Fleetwood Mac. It works like a dream on the arresting likes of 'Forever' and 'Don't Save Me' and, along with their gutsy, contagiously fun live shows, went a long way to making them top of the BBC Sound Of 2013 poll earlier this month and the hotly-tipped name on every media bod's tongue. The album arrives this spring. The sisters (with drummer Dash Hutton) recently played Dublin's O2 in support of Florence + The Machine. You suspect they'll be selling out sizeable venues all on their own next time they're over. Oh, and the name rhymes with "time", not "aim". Just so you avoid embarrassing yourself.
