With male pattern baldness affecting one in every two veteran glam rockers, it should be a pinch for Wicklow trio Children Of The Son to swoop in and nab the award for the most elaborate hair in the business. Thankfully, growing the longest curls this side of the River Slaney is just one of the grunge-loving threesome's many talents. Less than two years into their gigging career, teenage brothers Max, Art and Jack Matthews have already got menacing melodies, fearsome growling and monstrous riffage on their side, not to mention endorsements from industry heavy-hitters like legendary snapper Robert Knight and Thin Lizzy's Scott Gorham. Debut EP Hello World caused a stir for its artwork, which featured singer Max in a pose reminiscent of the young lad on the cover of U2's Boy, as well as its relentless, classic rock sound.
