In what sounds like a plotline off of Orange Is The New Black, 12 prisoners walk right out the prison door with help from some creative peanut butter molding.
Peanut butter is no longer just for sandwiches as 12 inmates in an Alabama prison proved this week. Several men saved up the peanut butter from their sandwiches and used it as modeling clay to alter the number of a door that led outside. The addition of the peanut butter made the door number look like it was one of the cell doors. Thinking it was a cell, a rookie guard opened the door to let an inmate back in. Thus, a dozen inmates just walked right out of prison.
According to the Facebook page for the sheriff's department, the inmates who escaped were from 18 to 30 years old and were facing charges such as disorderly conduct, domestic violence and attempted murder. according to the Facebook page for the sheriff’s department.
At a news conference on Monday, the county sheriff, James E. Underwood, stated, “Changing some numbers on the door with peanut butter — that may sound crazy. But these people are crazy like a fox.”

All the escaped men were found and taken back to prison. Just a guess, but there probably won’t be many PB&J’s being served in the Walker County Jail anymore.
