Happy Hookers in Dublin
The Sunday Times reports that prostitutes in Dublin are making more money here than they could in many European cities. The report cites Gardai sources and claims that many sex workers charge up to €400 per hour for their services.
Detective Superintendent John McKeon, head of Operation Quest – a unit that investigates prostitution and lap-dancing – reports that Gardai have found no evidence of sex trafficking in Dublin. McKeon believes that prostitution should be legalised here so that the sex trade can be monitored and workers protected.
According to the report, Ireland’s booming economy makes Dublin an attractive place for sex workers and that most keep around 50% of their earnings.

Oh dear… Research by NTL, Telewest and Virgin Mobile has found that a third of all men prefer gadgets to sex or beer. If you are unlucky enough to be with such a guy, I may have found the perfect solution to your dilemma – a musical condom. The condom, invented by Grigoriy Chausovsky, comes with a sensor that transmits to a miniature speaker in the base of the condom. As sex becomes more passionate, the condom plays louder and faster. Good luck to same-sex couple
This October a lesbian couple who were legally married in Canada launched a lawsuit to seek the same legal rights as married heterosexuals in Ireland.
