Knife Party Interview
|
"Your insinuation that the name of a one-time collaborator (us) somehow randomly triggered violence at an unrelated Swedish House Mafia concert is ridiculous".
I don't even know who they are but I totally agree. This response answers all questions. Very Joe Duffy-ish insinuations throughout. Ridiculous!

| I'm on the fence on this one. Would you call your band Knife Party? Who is that meant to impress? Also how come it's a 'Mexican Standoff'? Rob Swire seems to be talking through his arse there. A 'knife party' surely involves different elements going somewhere a rumble is likely to happen, armed with weapons that can kill. The questions put to Swire might be a bit heavy handed but the basic issue is inescapable. Did the connection between Swedish House Mafia and Knife Party inspire thugs to go to the gigs in Dublin and London, carrying weapons. To say there is no link at all just doesn't add up. How many other big gigs were there knifings at this year?

I think there is a question to be asked, but I also think that the answer is acceptable. At least he seems to have actually talked about it. Natural Born Killers was banned here at least in part because people thought there was a copycat style thing that happened in the US - was that right? I don't think so but at least it shows there should be debate.

| I still say he's wrong about 'Mexican stand-off'. Swire seems like an intelligent guy apart from that.
