Andreas VIllas Boas
|
at Spurs, is going to be fun. He didn't waste any time in pointing a few fingers at Abramovich. He's also VERY VERY smart guy, but perhaps he's a bit too smart for his own good.

| At the moment, he's definitely Mourinho-lite. Maybe he'll grow into it and prove to be as big as the job - but it could all end in tears for the second time...

He's a very intelligent man with a brilliant knowledge of the game. I learned recently that his first managing gig was the gaffer of British Virgin Islands when he was 21 or 22. I know the team are ranked amogst the lowest in the world, but that's an unusual gig to give a 21 year old with no professional playing experience. He'll be doing well to hang onto Modric me thinks.

Modric is off its common knowledge.
Big chance for him with Spurs wealthy owners throwing a lot of money his way, if he flops though here like chelsea his career as a Top manager may be over not long after it began.

I'm also hearing rumours of Van der Vaart could be leaving Spurs for a return to Hamburg too? Two major blows if Villas Boas loses Modric and the dutchman. If this is the case, he really should think about bringing in the (brilliantly named) Hulk, who played under him at Porto, to The Lane

Van der Vaart's one of those infuriating players though isn't he. Loads of talent, loads of qualities but has games where he just doesn't click. When that happens he looks like he's a lazy indulgent bugger.
If I was Villas Boas the man I'd be chasing hardest is Falcao.

Didn't Athletico Madrid not pay €40 mil for Falcao not even 12 months ago? They'd have to pay at least that to get him - especially as he scored a rake of goals for Athletico last season. I understand Adebayor will be a Spurs player next season too after AVB agreed a fee with Citeh

| I'm wondering what sort of a wardrobe he's going to model as the season progresses. Who are his favourite designers?

I'd bow to your knowledge Rob - but if spurs sell Modric they'll have the €40 million to buy him. It might cost a bit more but he might well actually be worth it. He's a classic centre-forward. My impression was Athletico were under pressure to sell because they didn't qualify for champions league.
