Dalglish axed
|
The right decision,a great player but never a great Manager.
In his first spell as Manager the team picked itself and was guided for a couple of years by Bob Paisley but a series of bad buys like hysen, vennison, burrows and speedie started a big rot, likewise last summer with henderson adam enrique all poor players and the worst of all downing a 20 million winger without a league goal or assist all season, the truth is Dalglish is a poor judge of a player which means he would never become a top class Manager.
Word is from Liverpool the next Manager will be a surprise and not names linked like Martinez etc

Molby was manager of swansea for a while without setting the world alight and then some crowd in the old vauxhall conference before going to Hull and was a flop there, so I dont think so!
Great player though,a better player from denmark michael laudrup who has a bit better of a Managerial record is one of the names on the extra long shortlist it appears.

| Andres Villas Boas seems genuinely to be in the reckoning. Am I wrong in thinking that his reputation may be hugely inflated, and that his failure at Chelsea is the real marker of his ability.

VB is still very young for a manager 34, the suspicion was that he hand one hand tied behind his back with ambromovich in charge, while Di matteo has done great as a caretaker Manager it seems when it comes to buying players the owner keeps sticking his oar in and demanding some of them play.
The word on the street is VB is third in line behind Deschamps and Frank De Boer who is the no.1 target and its his job if he wants it,though he is happy enough at Ajax.

| De Doer would be an interesting choice. It'd be nice to see Di Matteo rewarded but that's not how football works a lot of the time!

| so i'm confused, AVB is No 3 choice for Liverpool, where De Boer is No 1 but who's in the frame for Chelsea

| De boer has said thanks but no thanks, a further sign that the Yanks at anfield havent got the money or ambition they talked about when they took over.

do you know who'd be great. Billy Young. A good auld fashioned rugged centre half by trade. A bollocks of a manager and he sort those fancy dan types out. I tell you what else, he'd dish out all sorts of punishment to Andy Carroll himself on the training ground. Standing there not working whack Pony Tail whack White Boots whack Fuckin' annoying me WHACK

| I've decided I want either Rene Girard or Walter Mazzarri. Rene has worked wonders at Montpellier and Napoli's football is absolutely superb

But what chance either?
Have there ever been as many high profile vacancies at the same time? Liverpool, Chelsea, Aston Villa and West Brom. It's tough at the top, eh?

That so-and-so Hodgson just called up Martin Kelly to England. Means the chance of him playing for Ireland has gone from slim to very slim...
Louis Van Gaal looks like he might end up being the 'Sporting Director', which of course is entirely different from 'Director of Football' - the title which Damien Comolli was so aptly given!
