I was there once or twice in the very late 90's, Rob. I remember drinking in John B. Keane's pub one evening, and by the end of the night, John B and his mates were singing songs on the bench next to us. Can't remember what they sang, but I'm sure it was 'old skool'.

Been there. Mad drinking if that's what you're into. There's a good atmosphere generally. Who's on this year?

Michael D. Higgins is opening the festival and on the festival programme is Patrick deWitt, Germaine Greer, Peter Taylor, Belinda McKeon, Paul Durcan, Simon Armitage, The Dubliners, Des Bishop and more.

Ireland v Hungary is on June 4th while Im still down there. That's my first priority anyway...

Paul Durcan and Simon Armitage are always worth a look.

And Patrick deWitt is an interesting fucker. The Sisters Brothers is well worth a read if you haven't had a look yet...

Has Michel Houellebecq ever done one of these in Ireland, can you imagine the rider he'd ask for?
