Ear Plugs at Gigs
|
It's time that Old Man Kennedy thought of his hearing. I'm going to buy some decent ear plugs for loud gigs in small clubs. Does anyone here use them? The following seem to be worth a look... or listen... or reduced listen...

And, yeah, I know, it's far from ear plugs you were raised, you jumped up yoghurt-loving sap! I remember the time I came home from borstal in 1972 and my grandfather (the Lord Rest His Drunken Soul) asked me to pass him some ear plugs. Well, I swear to God, I grabbed the head of him, and bounced it off every wall in the shebeen, and then stuffed two lumps of wet bog-roll six inches inside his demented skull. It was a Happy Christmas in Ardee that year!

got them for my 2 and a half year old. She hasn't gigged properly in them yet, but she likes the fact that they're VERY LARGE and pink. probably not the ones for you.
In all seriousness, <a href="http://www.hearling.ie>Hearing Healthcare were the people I got them off at the music show, and they good stuff for adults too.

| DavyL, I know a lot of musicians who have damaged hearing from not wearing ear plugs while playing and attending gigs. They now have a constant low humming in their ears. I enjoy listening to music too much to risk that. If you get a good pair of plugs, I'm told, it won't stop you hearing the gig properly.

They feckin are, Tornaxx! I was at a gig in Slane a few years ago, and these aul lads staggered on to the stage and started trying to play 'Start Me Up'. It was shocking. We had a look, but we couldn't find a defibrillator.

PS - I went for a 5 mile run in the Park this morning at 8am. It certainly makes you feel morally superior to every other human being in the world. On this basis, Kenya must surely be the most arrogant country in the world, but, somehow, they're not. I haven't got time to write the thesis, so you can have that for free. What time do pubs open on a Saturday?

| Midday. Although, the fact ESPN start their FA Cup coverage at 8am will surely alter everything in that regard...
