O'Connor and the 'Loose crew crossed paths while working on the 'Ballad Of Ronnie Drew' tribute song in January, and decided to work together to record a duet for the Meteor Music Awards.

They chose 'We People Who Are Darker Than Blue', a powerful anti-racism tune originally recorded by Curtis Mayfield and recently covered by O'Connor on her Theology album.

This new version features Mick Pyro's rapping and the vocal talents of the Dublin-based Discovery Gospel Choir. The parties involved have now decided to release the song as an iTunes download, available from this Sunday, February 10. It will then be performed live at the Meteors awards ceremony.
