The Walls frontman talks exclusively to Hot Press.
A heavily politicised member of the Irish music community, Steve Wall spoke to us this morning to express his happiness with the re-election of Barack Obama.
"All I can say is I'm delighted he got in," Steve commented. "Much of his term was spent mopping up the mess that Bush left and he really deserves another four years to try and make a difference. It's also good that it was such a close race as I think that will rattle his cage a bit. But, in saying that, I hope he doesn't bow down to the Romney voters too much as the Republicans will now throw everything in his path to slow him down and stymie progress."
Wall also took the opportunity to call on Obama to take a tougher stance in some aspects of his foreign policy, hoping in particular that the US President gets tough on Israel.
Wall feels that a policy of "ethnic cleansing in areas of Palestine" is at the heart of much of the trouble with the Muslim world today:
"And now Israel have their sights on Iran. God knows what wil happen if they decide to attack Iran's nuclear facilities as that will no doubt also involve the US. And the rest of the world."
