Proving once more that gingers really do have soul, Ed Sheeran celebrates 39 weeks in the Irish charts with his album + getting back on top
The Hiberno-English 21-year-old broke into the UK mainstream last year, with his debut single The A Team reaching number three on the UK Singles Chart. Since then he has received extensive airplay both in the UK and ROI. His signature blend of acoustic and hip-hop appeals to audiences on both sides of the water.
At number two, One Direction are celebrating 29 weeks Up All Night, as a cacophony of pre-teenage girls invest their pocket money in the adolescent warblers. Adele must be content at number three for 21, At number five the BeeGees have sustained their resurgence after the loss of Robin Gibbs.
