21 has now spent an astonishing 14 weeks at the top!
Adele's chart reign appears not to be letting up anytime soon. The London-singer's sophomore album 21 spends it's 14th non-consecutive week at the top spot with debut album 19 holding steady at No.3 and a further 3 songs in the Top 25 of the official Singles Chart. It's just another great achievement for Adele who has been the undisputed queen of 2011, not just here but in the US where 'Rolling in the Deep' recently climbed to the top of the Billboard Hot 100. Adele holds off strong competition from Monaghan's Ryan Sheridan whose debut album The Day You Live Forever is a new entry at No.2. The rest of the Top 5 is almost the same as last week with Fleet Foxes and Mary Byrne both falling one place at No.4 and No.5 respectively. Other new entries come from Glee, Sade, Wild Beasts, Tyler the Creator and actor-turned-singer Hugh Laurie.
On the Singles Chart, LMFAO's 'Party Rock Anthem' and Jennifer Lopez's 'On The Floor' stay at No.1 and No.2 respectively, and buoyed by Eurovision-fever Jedward break into the Top 3 with their 2011 entry 'Lipstick' while Bruno Mars is a non-mover at No.4 with 'The Lazy Song'. Other movers and shakers include David Guetta, Nicki Minaj and Flo-Rida's 'Where Them Girls At' rising heavily to No.5 and Lady Gaga's 'Judas' moving up 13 places to No.9. Gaga also has the week's highest new entry with buzz single 'The Edge of Glory' unexpectedly breaking into the Top 10.
On the Indie Chart, the upper reaches are almost identical to the main chart with Adele, Ryan Sheridan, Adele (again!), Fleet Foxes and Declan O'Rourke making up the Top 5.
