The full line-up has just been revealed and we reckon it's pretty knock-out!
The line-up for this year’s Electric Picnic has just been officially announced and we have to say from day one it’s a cracker.
Taking care of headline duties are Arcade Fire, Pulp, The Chemical Brothers, Interpol and PJ Harvey. Which is us sold straight away!
On the undercard are Beirut, Jimmy Cliff, Death In Vegas, Toots & The Maytals, DJ Shadow, Gavin Friday, Sinéad O’Connor, Killing Joke, Cast Of Cheers, Micah P Hinson, White Lies, OMD, Midlake, The Charlatans, Big Audio Dynamite, The Go! Team, Potbelleez, Boys Noize, Paul Kalkbrenner, Mogwai, Adam Beyer, Flying Lotus, Lykke Li, Twin Shadow, Willy Mason, Trentmoller, Ivan St. John, Dave Clarke, Caitlin Rose, The Danger Is, O Emperor, Health, Adebisi Shank, Mundy, R.S.A.G., Codes, The Walkmen and Sharon Shannon & Her Big Band.
Of course, the Picnic is as much about the extracurricular activities as it is the music with the return of Body & Soul, which welcomes L.A. recycler artist Shrine, bamboo sculpture Minakawa and the Wood Collective; Mindfield which includes David McWilliams and Jon Snow in the Leviathan tent; The Global Green; Arcadia; and The Comedy Tent.
Add in the dubwise sounds of Trenchtown, Fosset’s Circus, the Salty Dog Saloon, the Farmer’s Market and Soul Kids and you’re talking three days of festival bliss!
For the first time this year you’ll be able to buy a Sunday ticket for €99.50, which excludes camping. If you intend on being there from September 2 to 4, weekend tickets are €240 and €60 for additional campervan access. Tickets go back on sale at 9am on Friday March 11, with a deposit scheme to help spread the cost.
