We suspect there are some sore heads today!
There was lots of whooping, hollering and general celebrating last night as the Irish Festival Awards 2010 were doled out in the Dublin Sugar Club.
Compered by actor & comedian Emmet Kirwan and featuring live music from Sacred Animals, Daithi O Dronai, Cast Of Cheers and DJ Tu-Ki, the gongs went to:
Family Festival Award: Glasgowbury
Social Responsibility Award: Body & Soul
Best Service Award: Glasgowbury
Best Irish Act: Imelda May
Best Value: Arthur’s Day
Best Street Spirit: Galway Arts Festival
Best Small Festival: Sea Sessions
Best Medium Winner: Rory Gallagher Tribute Festival
Best Large Festival: Electric Picnic
Best New Festival: Body & Soul
Best One-Day Festival: Arthur’s Day
Best Dance Festival: Life
Greenest Festival: Electric Picnic

Congratulations to everybody who got to make teary acceptance speeches, and commiserations to all the other fine festivals that went home empty-pawed. Next year!
