Irish reggae band Intinn are very close to winning a publicly voted X-Factor style reggae competition, which will see them play at One Love Festival in London and Rototom Sunsplash in Spain this summer.
"Intinn are urging the music loving population of Ireland to vote for them online in the European Reggae Contest," a spokesperson told Hot Press. "Voting closes this Friday May 29 so people need to move fast!"
Intinn are a unique five-piece band from the West of Ireland. Their music is a blend of Reggae, Dub and Drum 'n Bass, but with a Celtic twist. Armed with electronic drums, synthesisers and traditional Irish Harp, Intinn's sound is energetic and bass heavy. The band are renowned for their live performances and have played with UB40, Kila and Horace Andy.
Speaking after their most recent sold out gig at Space 54, Smithfield (Dublin) last Saturday, lead vocalist Cian Finn was effusive. "It has been amazing to see all the support we are getting from our followers both from Ireland and internationally," he told Hot Press. "The opportunity that would arise for us if we win this competition would be purely brilliant especially for an Irish reggae band. We are urging the Irish public to get behind us and vote online to help us win."
Intinn are due to play at Life Festival (Mullingar) on June 4 - 6, KnockanStockan Independent Music Festival (Co Wicklow) June 23 - 25, and Electric Picnic (Co Laois) September 3 - 5. In addition they will play at The Button Factory on the June 13.
