Promoting his new three CD boxed set, the Belfast artist will be playing 13 shows starting in late May and ending in June in Dublin
Duke Special released "The Stage, A Book, & the Silver Screen" on 26th February, the title referring to the three components of the record.
The Stage refers to the album Mother Courage and Her Children, which the Duke wrote for the production of Bertolt Brecht's anti-way play of the same name. The play ran at the National Theatre in London during the second half of 2009. The album features twelve songs from the stage production.
A Book is Huckleberry Finn, a five-track album that features the first ever recording of an unfinished musical based on the Mark Twain book, started by Kurt Weill before his death. Duke Special finished the songs with approval from the Kurt Weill Foundation.
The Silver Screen refers to the The Silent World of Hector Mann, an album featuring songs from Duke Special and special guests and based on the silent film actor Hector Mann's movies.
These three albums will be highlighted during the tour, which kicks off on Thursday 27th May at An Grianan Theatre in Letterkenny and ends Friday 11th June at the Tripod in Dublin.
