Gary Numan gives us the tour lowdown
The godfather of synth-pop tells Hot Press what he's up to as well as what to expect from his upcoming shows.
In an exclusive Hot Press interview, Gary Numan reveals to Roisin Dwyer details about what fans will be hearing on his tour.
He has been busy working simultaneously on two records. The first, Splinter, is a follow-up to 2006's Jagged. The second, Dead Son Rising, is an album of alternative versions of tracks from the last three long-players.
Numan says that some of this new material will feature on his upcoming tour.
"The Pleasure Principle only comes to 50 minutes so the show is effectively going to be in two halves," he says. "There will be a full performance of the album (The Pleasure Principle) and then a section which is a mix of other early titles and new work. I'm actually trying to get two or three new songs which have never been played before ready too."
Gary Numan's Pleasure Principle Tour will begin 17 November 2009 (www.numan.co.uk).
For the full interview, see the next issue of Hot Press, on stands this Thursday 5 November.
