Meanwhile, U2's 14 album stranglehold on the Top 100 is broken.
The Script reached another landmark today as their self-titled debut album notched up its 52nd consecutive week on the Irish chart – a remarkable achievement for a band who not long ago were recording in a shed in James’ Street.
The only thing keeping them from the top spot is Michael Jackson whose The Essential is one of six compilations he has in the survey.
There’s good news too for Hot Press cover stars and Electric Picnic headliners Florence & The Machine who are up to number three with Lungs.
Having enjoyed a post-Croke Park bounce, which saw no fewer than 14 of their albums in the Top 100, U2 had their stranglehold on the chart broken this week. They won’t be unduly concerned with No Line On The Horizon still in the top 10 and outperformng young whippersnappers like Kings Of Leon and La Roux.
