Taking Back Sunday for the Academy
The NY rockers (just don't call them emo) hit Dublin this July.
Taking Back Sunday may be classified as 'rock rock rock' on their MySpace – and steadfastly deny any emo leanings – but they'll always be emotional rock to us. And, having co-headlined the Warp Tour, played at Live Earth, and sold almost a million copies of their last album, the label doesn't seem to have held them back thus far.
The New York fivepiece take The Academy on July 26 (which is, fittingly, a Sunday).
The gig is part of their New Again album tour – the title of which is a nod to their freshly-recruited guitarist, Matt Fazzi. The follow-up to their chart-topping Louder Now, New Again was produced by David Kahne, who worked on Paul McCartney's last LP, along with albums by New Order and ska punks Sublime.
Tickets for the band's Dublin show go on sale this Friday (May 8), priced €28.
