Patrick Swayze dominates HMV love list

Ahead of Valentine's weekend, HMV customers were invited to vote for their all-time favourite love film online at hmv.com.

With over 25,000 votes cast, the results of the annual poll bring together the usual rom-coms with epic weepies, romantic classics and some new offerings.

And this year, the top ten list offers some surprises, with Patrick Swayze reigning supreme as he stars in the poll's top two films: Ghost, which topped the chart, and Dirty Dancing, which comes in 2nd.

Although both films always do well in romantic movie polls, their high billing suggests that fans were voting specifically for Swayze, who is currently fighting against cancer.

Number 3 in the poll is The Notebook, which jumped over 30 places since last year.
