Aiken Promotions have just announced details of an Irish tour Morrissey is undertaking next year to celebrate his 50th birthday – God, we feel old! – and the February 16 release of his Years Of Refusal album,
His ninth solo album – we feel even older – tracks are understood to include ‘Mama Lay Softly On The Riverbed’, ‘Black Cloud’, ‘One Day Goodbye Will Be Farewell’, ‘I’m Throwing My Arms Around Paris’ (not thought to be a reference to Ms. Hilton) and ‘Something Is Squeezing My Skull’.
The trek takes in the INEC, Killarney (April 28); Leisureland, Galway (29); Leisure Centre, Omagh (May 1); and Waterfront, Belfast (2). Special guest for all shows will be Doll & The Kicks, four Brighton Institute graduates who cite early Kate Bush, Blondie and Massive Attack amongst their diverse influences.
Tickets go on sale on Friday December 12 at 9am priced €54.80 in the Republic of Irerland and £33 north of the border.
