Dave Pennefather to join radio airplay debate
Dave Pennefather, the head of Universal Music in Ireland has been added to the panel for a major debate on radio airplay for Irish artists.
The debate is part of the IBI Broadcasting Conference which is being held on Tuesday March 4, in the Four Seasons Hotel, in Dublin. The conference is being organised by Lisa Ní Choisdealbha, Development Director of the Independent Broadcasters of Ireland and is being sponsored by IMRO.
The debate on 'Radio Play For Irish Artists' is being chaired by Hot Press editor, Niall Stokes, who was involved in bringing the speakers together for what promises to be a fascinating and very lively exchange.
The full list of speakers is: Louis Walsh, Dave Pennefather, Steve Wall of The Walls, Michael O'Keeffe of the BCI, Dave Kelly of FM104 and Colm O'Sullivan of Red FM.
Having started his career as a musician, radio plugger and artist manager, and then worked his way through various Irish independent labels, through to his current position as Universal MD, Pennefather is uniquely qualified to comment on what is a vital issue for Irish artists.
"I have been approached to partake in many panel debates and most times, decline these offers," Dave Pennefather told Hot Press. "However, I feel that this particular day is of significant importance, and so I am very happy to be given the opportunity to make my contribution to the debate."
