Onka's Big Moka
This Bournemouth five-piece released their first single less than a year ago, and have already been hailed as the next big thing by the British music media.

Their first album is reasonably pleasant collection of footstomping guitar pop. Their music has been described as "piano-led white soul", and while that might sound scary, it is not entirely inaccurate. Ocean Colour Scene are an obvious comparison. The standout tracks here are the first single 'Achilles Heel', and the slower 'Summer Cycle', the latter featuring some great vocals.
Onka's Big Moka suffers overall from a serious lack of originality. Not bad, but not essentially very exciting either. The next big thing? Let's hope not.
