Snow Patrol sued by former bassist
Former Snow Patrol bassist Mark McClelland is suing the band for a share of their profits since he left.
According to reports from the UK, Mark McClelland is looking for a quarter stake of the group's profits since he was sacked in May 2005.
Says a well-placed industry source: “It seems like he’s playing the ‘wrongful dismissal’ card, which could be a tricky one to prove. That said, nobody goes to the High Court without taking serious legal advice, so he obviously feels he has a case.”
As previously reported in Hot Press, McClelland has formed a new Edinburgh-based outfit, Little Doses, who describe themselves as “Elastica, if Justine Frischmann could sing.”
While yet to cross the Irish Sea, they’re regulars on the Scottish club circuit and have been attracting both independent and major label interest.
