The Undertones announce Dublin show
Reformed Derry punks are to hit Dublin's Tripod on 17th November.
The Undertones are to follow up next weekend's Electric Picnic set with a show at the Harcourt venue.
Their live forays don't end there, however. The band are in the process of recording their album Dig Yourself Deep (due later this year), and will follow its release with more live shows and festival appearances.
Perennial favourites of legendary DJ John Peel, the band shot to fame with spiky punkpop hits such as 'Here Comes The Summer', 'My Perfect Cousin' and, of course, 'Teenage Kicks'. The latter was Peel's all-time favourite song, and was played at his funeral.
After a five-year, four-album career which saw them share a label with The Ramones, the band split in 1983. Their 1999 reunion took place with Paul McLoone replacing original lead singer Feargal Sharkey.
Tickets are €20/€22.50 and available from Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.ie), Road Records, City Discs, Sound Cellar and all usual outlets.
