Dubliner appointed GM of Mercury Records
Dubliner Niamh Byrne has been appointed General Manager of Mercury Records UK.
One of the start-up team when Tower Records came to Dublin in 1993, she went on to spend 13 years at CMO Management where her roster included Blur at the height of their Britpop fame and then Gorillaz.
As well as overseeing such key Mercury acts as Kate Walsh, Just Jack, Goldspot, Bon Jovi, Lionel Richie and Texas, Byrne will retain an interest in her own The Engine Room (TER) consultancy firm.
