The promoters cite "unforseen circumstances" as the reason for the cancellation.
London band The Rakes have cancelled their 20 March date at Vicar St, with no rescheduled date on the horizon.
The news will come as a blow to those who were looking forward to their show, especially in light of their last-minute cancellation at the Electric Picnic festival in 2005, when lead singer Alan Donohoe suffered from a throat infection and nervous exhaustion.
Refunds are available from point of purchase.
Also on a cancellation tip, The Aliens, featuring former members of The Beta Band, have called off their shows at Speakeasy, Belfast (March 24) and Crawdaddy, Dublin (March 25). The reason cited by John Maclean is that he " slipped and fell awkwardly, like an old lady, landing not on his feet, as a cat would have done, but landed on his side and snapping a fragile brittle bone".
Those who planned to go can hang on to their tickets for rescheduled dates to be announced, or obtain a refund.
