Movements

On their second album, Booka Shade move beyond the trancey electronic house sound of their biggest tracks, ‘Body Language’ and ‘Mandarine Girl’. Although there is no shortage of epic hooks and soaring basslines on ‘Movements’ – check out ‘Night Falls’ and ‘In White Rooms’ – Arno and Walter have diversified with stunning results. There’s bugged-out acid tracks like ‘Paper Moon’ and ‘Ping Pang’, some windswept ambience and electro of the Detroit and Italo varieties. Arno and Walter even make the kind of dopey beats that you’d expect from Shadow, no mean feat for two producers more used to making stripped back, electronic house. As the title suggests, Booka Shade are representing all sides of the electronic music movement.
