The Dudley Corporation sign deal with Rough Trade
Long-standing Dublin trio The Dudley Corporation have signed a publishing deal with the much-respected UK indie label Rough Trade.
The contract means that Rough Trade will look after the band's rights in relation to their songs being used in television shows and movies.
They'll also chase up royalties from international radio play, something which is particularly welcome in the Dudley camp.
"It's something we've always found very difficult and frustrating to do," says Dudley, the singer. "Especially as the records have gotten plenty of play in the past outside of Ireland. When our last album, In Love With The Dudley Corporation, came out in the US, it debuted really high on CMJ [College Media Journal - the company that publishes charts for US college radio]. But we've never seen a penny."
The band is currently finishing up their third album, entitled The Lens Begin, which is due for release in August. They play The Hub in Dublin on June 8 as part of the Arthur Lee Benefit gig.
