Lucia Evans wins You're A Star
Zimbabwe native Lucia Evans has won RTE's You're A Star televised music competition, after receiving the most public votes last night.
The singer, now based in Galway, fended off competition from The Sullivan Brothers, who also made it to the final of the ten-week series.
Says Julian Vignoles, Deputy Commissioning Editor for RTÉ Entertainment: "The talent on this year's show has been fantastic and varied. All the contestants have consistently raised their game over ten tough weeks, keeping their good humour along the way.
"RTÉ is delighted that the talented Lucia now has a fantastic launching pad for what we hope will be a successful career in the music industry, thanks to You're A Star."
She'll now go on to work with Polydor/Universal Music in Ireland and also wins a publishing deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing in the UK, a management contract with Much Music Management, and €10,000 worth of equipment from Roland Ireland.
