Tim Wheeler's extra-curricular single sees light of day
Having been available for the past four years as a white label 12”, Tim Wheeler’s collaboration with legendary dance producer Arthur Baker is finally receiving a commercial release.
Due on March 20 through Darren Emerson’s Underwater Records label, the 8” 19 sec ‘Glow’ has also been remixed by Emmerson, Jagz Kooner, Si Begg and Freelance Hellraiser.
The track is described by one well-placed source as, “A hot dance rock fusion, which would fit quite well in a set surrounded by The Killers, Franz Ferdinand and The Rapture.”
Although currently domiciled in New York, Wheeler flew back to Downpatrick last month to participate in a six-part RTE series on Irish songwriters. He performed ‘Shining Light’ in the old cottage where Ash rehearsed in their pre-record deal days.
Meanwhile, with an album’s worth of material penned, Ash start work on the follow-up to Meltdown in March. There are currently no plans to replace departing guitarist Charlotte Hatherley, which means they’ll be doing it as a trio.
