If it’s indie rock’n’roll for you, it’s good news that Dublin’s benefitting from two new alternative club nights.
Isaac Butt’s newly revamped venue, Radio City, will host Bloodhouse, an eclectic mix of rock, indie, metal, dance and pop. As if to illustrate this point, the opening night on October 8 will have guest DJ McSleazy (of MTV Mash notoriety) and the next confirmed DJ is James Atkin, the former singer with 90s UK icons EMF, on October 29. Entry for this is €8 for students and €10 for all others.
Guest DJs are also the main attraction at the Voodoo Lounge, where tomorrow (23 September) ex-Stone Roses and Primal Scream man Mani will take charge of the decks. Others in the pipeline include the legend that is Marc Almond on October 8 and Ian McCulloch, ex of Echo And The Bunnymen, who’ll be doing his thang on October 13. Still not enough? Larry Love and Reverend Wayne D. Love of dark rockers Alabama 3 will be master of ceremonies on October 28.
Door for all Transmission shows are 11pm, and tickets can be purchased from www.tickets.ie.
