Hal avoid legal action
Hal have managed to fend off legal action from an Anglo-French dance act of the same name whose collaboration with X-Files star Gillian Anderson, ‘Extemis’, charted in 52 countries worldwide in 1997.
“Both parties have been in conversation with each other and, as of this minute, nobody is suing anybody,” reveals a Hal Dublin spokesman.
This contrasts with a recent statement from their namesakes, which said: “Confusion
has been caused by the emergence of the Irish group signed to Rough Trade who are also using the name Hal and we’ve been forced to take legal action against Sanctuary, the label behind Rough Trade, in order to establish ownership of the name.”
Identity protected, the band journey to The Limelight, Belfast (September 21); Savoy, Cork (23); and Ambassador, Dublin (24).
