The Darkness get their bells on: Jim Fitzpatrick's cover artwork unveiled
Ho ho ho! Check out The Darkness' cover artwork for their forthcoming single 'Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells End)'
This ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls is the cover artwork for The Darkness' soon to be number one festive single, 'Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells End)'.
As revealed on this here website in August, the man responsible is Jim Fitzpatrick, the Dublin illustrator who was synonymous in the '70s with Thin Lizzy and recently designed Ash's Free All Angels sleeve.
Due for release on December 15, Justin Hawkins is adamant that the tune "is not an anthem for gluttony, consumerism or bloated, flatulent post-dinner snoozing. It is an acknowledgement that 'tis the season which affords us a greater tolerance and brings folk together.
"In honour of the marvellous support bestowed upon us by the sweet people of the British Isles," he continues, "we giveth unto thee the gift that keeps on giving. It might be a Christmas song but it still rocks in the unique Darkness fashion."
Mr. Fitzpatrick will be telling us all about his dalliance with The Darkness in the next issue of Hot Press, due on Thursday December 4. Make sure your bell end is ready for it...
