At It Again
John Carty displays all the wit and verve we’ve come to expect of him on this, his third solo album for the Shanachie label
Born in London but immersed in the tradition of the Sligo style and now living in his family’s native Roscommon, John Carty displays all the wit and verve we’ve come to expect of him
on this, his third solo album for the Shanachie label. Well-known tunes like ‘The Frieze Britches’ and ‘The Silver Spear’ are given new life in Carty’s finely crafted settings, whilst stellar backing from the likes of Brian McGrath, John Blake and Francis Gaffney confirms
that Carty’s TG4-bequeathed Musician Of The Year award was richly deserved.
