Summer At My Feet
The instrumental tracks are equally strong, featuring varied arrangements that put full use to the multiple capabilities of the band members.
The Cork-based trad band North Cregg have been around since 1996, but singer Fiona Kelleher only came on board two years ago, and she’s a major asset. With a nicely dry, piping voice and a straightforwardly traditional singing style unhampered by pretension or excessive emoting, she makes a fine job of material ranging from the great old ballad ‘The Recruited Collier’, to a baby-dandling song in Irish, to two originals (including the title track) by Cork singer/songwriter Ger Wolfe. The instrumental tracks are equally strong, featuring varied arrangements that put full use to the multiple capabilities of the band members.
