Some of Ireland’s new, brightest outfits are on the Heineken Green Energy bill
Heineken Green Energy has always prided itself on championing Irish acts and this year is no exception with a broad array of homegrown talent taking to the boards.
The first of the must-sees is Future Kings Of Spain (May 2 @ the Temple Bar Music City) who might not be Spanish or in any literal line of monarchial succession, but sure know how to crank it out on stage. Black Francis, Neil Young, Morrissey and Jimmy Webb are a handful of singer Joey Wilson’s heroes, and it shows!
Another group who are dab hands at working a crowd are La Rocca (May 3 @ The Ambassador with The Vines). Recently signed to Wet Clay Recordings, they’ll be previewing, along with others, the five songs that make up their new mini-album.

Also keep your ears peeled for Neosupervital (May 2 @ The Village with Jaga Jazzist) and Babelfish (May 5 @ The Ambassador with Yo La Tengo), two hotpress favourites who have what it takes to go all the way.
