Louis pops Virgin
Louis Walsh has some choice words for Virgin Radio
"I couldn't give a fuck!" says Louis Walsh, in response to Virgin Radio's decision not to feature manufactured pop on its playlist.
The UK radio giant issued a statement recently stating that it will no longer play songs by boy and girl groups such as Westlife, Boyzone, Atomic Kitten and All Saints. They are also appealing to listeners to notify the station if a DJ mentions "processed crap" – namely Pop Stars, Pop Rivals, Pete Waterman, Geri Halliwell, Simon Cowell, Doctor Fox, Gareth Gates, Atomic Kitten, Steps, S Club 7 or Westlife etc – so that they can be fined a tenner.
Speaking to Hot Press, Walsh, the pop mogul responsible for Westlife, Boyzone, Ronan Keating, Samantha Mumba, Six and Bellefire responded to the statement by saying, "Sure who listens to Virgin radio anyway? Frankly my dear, I just don't give a damn."
