It's been 10 years since Lewis won the X Factor and to be fair, we haven't heard that much from her since.
Arguably the most vocally talented winner of the TV talent competition, Leona Lewis has struggled to maintain a place in the charts.
After just one album, she is now parting ways with Island Records. The split comes shortly after Lewis' replacement of Nicole Scherzinger in the musical Cats. Lewis will take to the Broadway stage as Grizabella on the Andrew Lloyd Webber production. Although a great opportunity, Lewis' Broadway appearance has caused friction with Island Records which ultimately leads to the split.
The popstar released her latest album I Am through Island Records last September. With none of the singles peaking in the charts, it will be the first and last album she releases through the label. Now, Lewis has put aside all touring and recording to devote her time entirely to her Broadway debut.
Perhaps the lead single off I Am entitled 'Thunder' is a message from Leona Lewis to Island Records?
