Will Ferrell's SNL sketch as George W. Bush soon became a favorite with audiences globally. Now, he's thinking of using his imitation skills to take off Mr. Ronald Reagan.
Entitled Reagan, the plot lifts off from Reagan's second term in Office when his mindset deteriorated rapidly due to the onset of dementia.
An ambitious intern is brought in to convince Reagan that he is an actor playing the commander in chief in a movie, using footage from his entertainment days to really persuade the President. The script is penned by Mike Rosolio and producing company Black List were so taken by it that a live reading was done with Girls star Lena Dunham and John Cho.
According to reports from Variety, Will Ferrell is already attached to the project. The tone of the script is unknown and may prove to be controversial with comedic star Will Ferrell playing the role on quite a sensitive subject for many.
We are intrigued however to see how Ferrell would tackle the role. He's done his batch of American Presidency impersonations with his Broadway play "You're Welcome America" and starring alongside Zach Galifianakis in political comedy The Campaign.
Whether Ferrell will occupy the White House as Reagan, we will just have to wait and see.
