The Springfield 'family favourites' provide witty viewing on the tense American Presidential campaign.
We aren't the only country that is going through the rigmaroles of an election campaign! No sireee, Bob! Way over in the good ole US of A, Republicans and Democrats alike are currently in the middle of selecting their respective candidates for the American presidential election, which takes place in November this year.
Before Jedd Bush dropped out this weekend, The Simpsons took the opportunity to poke fun at the then-remaining eight candidates, from the two major parties.
Inspired by Tarantino's most recent film The Hateful Eight, the two-minute clip is aptly named The Debateful Eight. Marge is struggling to sleep due to the nightmares she is experiencing, which revolve around the dreaded eight hopefuls.
Throughout it's 27 years in broadcasting, The Simpsons has provided ongoing social and political commentary, the incisive humour of which has doubtless contributed to the continued success of the franchise. As Marge goes back to sleep to see if she can find out who will win, it is clearly all still to play for. Except, as it turns out, for Jeb (boo hoo).
