The revolution will be televised
It’s No Disco, aiight? Except, for tonight – a whole programme full of things rap and hip hop – it’s Yo! Disco. Dig it
Just when we were getting excited about the imminent arrival of rap trailblazer Grandmaster Flash (click here for details), comes Yo! Disco, an entire No Disco instalment dedicated to rap and hip hop and the second in an increasingly brilliant series (tonight, Weds March 13th, N2, 11.15pm).
In addition to classic videos from the Wu-Tang Clan, A Tribe Called Quest and Stetsasonic, there’s an interview with Maseo from De La Soul (see also his interview with Hot Press here, if you simply can’t get enough) - as well as new stuff from Exile Eye, DJ Vadim, Skitz and New Flesh. Lastly, for those who seek extra-special Paddy’s Weekend delights, there will be further tidings of the fourth and final New Breathe ’02 (this Saturday, March 16th, POD, Dublin), featuring People Under The Stairs, TY, Exile Eye and DJ Flip.
