Born To Be Wild
With their self-titled debut album The Black Rebel Motorcycle Club have been causing an unexpected sensation by harking back to the dark distorted attitude-laden style of British bands such as The Jesus & Mary Chain, The Verve and Ride.
In our exclusive video interview, Peter Hayes and Robert Turner of the Back Rebel Motorcycle Club live up to the brooding intensity of their music and their moniker. Pallid and moody, and a little the worse for wear after a disagreeable ferry ride to Dublin for their recent NME Carling Brats tour, Hot Press gently prodded the less than loquacious pair into (reluctantly) talking about missing drummers, Oasis, drug scandals and the mainstream abuse of music. Not the easiest task, but somebody's gotta do it...
