He suffered a serious head injury in a car crash
We're sure you'll join us in sending positive vibes to Colin Vearncombe, AKA Black, who's in a medically-induced coma after being involved in a road accident whilst travelling from his home in Schull to Cork Airport.
"He has suffered a serious head injury and been placed in an induced coma to allow him the best possible chance of recovery," reads the latest medical bulletin to appear on his website. "He is likely to remain like this for several days but we will post an update as soon as there is any significant change in his condition. He is receiving the best possible care from the Intensive care unit team.
"Thank you to everyone who has posted, messaged, emailed and texted. Please keep doing it as his family are deeply moved and helped by your support and love. Please feel free to share this message and pass on to anyone not on social media."
The 53-year-old Liverpudlian is best-known for his 1987 top 5 album, Wonderful Life, but has continued to thrill his fanbase with such excellent records as last year's PledgeMusic funded Blind Faith.
He's always had a wonderful baritone voice, but has recently started sounding even more like Scott Walker!
