There's also a new Philo biography out next month
Black Star Riders, the band whose ranks include Scott Gorham and who previously operated as Thin Lizzy, have paid tribute to Philip Lynott.
“30 years ago today we lost the legend that is Phil Lynott,” they say. “Still in the hearts of all of us, lets remember what Phil brought to the world through his music and lyrics and the many great memories of the man himself onstage.”
Worth checking out tonight at 4pm is John Kelly talking Philo with Dave Fanning on RTÉ Radio 1. The action then switches to Vicar St. where Eric Bell and Brian Downey top the latest Vibe For Philo bill. Needless to say, Hot Press will have a full report and photo galleries first thing tomorrow morning.
Hitting bookshelves next month is Cowboy Song by Graeme Thompson who previously penned the much lauded Under The Ivy: The Life & Music Of Kate Bush.
It’s the first biography to be written with the cooperation of the Philip Lynott estate with publishers Little Brown promising “the ultimate depiction of a multi-faceted rock icon, and an intimate portrait of a much-loved father, son and husband.”
