Still no firm date on the release of parent album Dear Tommy though...
Johnny Jewel had originally announced that his latest Chromatics album, Dear Tommy, would be with us in February but, despite a number of tracks arriving online from it and confirmation that it was completed in April, there is no word as yet on when exactly we can get our hands on the whole thing.
This week, at least, our appetite is sated just a tad, once again, with another new track debuting.
'Shadow' follows 'Just Like You', 'I Can Never Be Myself When You're Around' and 'In Films' and is streaming below. Jewel has issued the following poetic statement alongside it:
"Everyone has a shadow. There is no real difference between ten years ago and ten seconds ago. Your future determines your past. The flame of nostalgia is a tempting black hole to jump into, but I recognize it as a fantasy.
"Romance is brave. So is simplicity. Love is a call to war. Why wouldn't you want to respect music? Dear Tommy is the most rebellious record I've made."
Also this month, 30 seconds of Chromatics' new cover of 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' arrived to soundtrack a brand new MANGO ad featuring Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne. The full thing is set to premiere later this month, though it will not appear on Dear Tommy.
